Icoon 7.2 Water management

Results & Conclusion

Due to operational issues in Autumn and Winter 2019 at a part of the factory of Farm Frites Egypt, the data gathering was disrupted and inconsistent, therefore only data from Farm Frites Egypt until August 2019 has been used in the consolidation of figures presented in this chapter.

Water consumption [m3/ tonne]

Water consumption is an indicator of how much water is used in the factory to produce one tonne of product. The water consumption has decreased in the past couple of years. Since 2018, the water consumption per tonne product has decreased by 8.7%; the target for 2025 is 15% less. The main reason for the reduction of the water consumption is the bypassing blancher in Sint-Truiden and extra reversed osmosis capacity in Lommel. For the coming years some more, large water recuperation projects will be developed to reach the target.
